Craig Spatial blends strong Geographic Information Science (GIS) with expressive cartographic design, bold colors, clean typography, and disciplined hierarchy to make patterns stand out and information easy to understand. Whether the work involves modern spatial analysis, historic storytelling, or interactive web mapping, every project follows the same approach: find the right data, prepare it cleanly, and turn it into a map that communicates quickly and looks polished.
The studio is led by Craig Hanson, a Space Coast–based GIS professional with a background in history, geography, and Geographic Information Science. His work combines real‑world data analysis, bold color design, and a deep interest in how places evolve over time. Craig studied History and Geography at the University of Wisconsin and earned a Master’s degree in Geographic Information Science from the University of Minnesota. After experience in both the public and private sectors, he built his own studio to focus on mapping, storytelling, and design. Outside of work, Craig spends time exploring nature, disc golfing, golfing, and drawing. He creates maps and digital projects that merge analysis, design, and a strong sense of place—each piece built to communicate clearly, feel intentional, and surface the patterns that matter.
